Luís Montenegro condenou “igualmente o uso excessivo da força por parte de Israel em Gaza” e apelou a um cessar-fogo no Médio Oriente.
O primeiro-ministro, Luís Montenegro, condenou esta quarta-feira o mais recentes ataques de Israel contra os capacetes azuis no sul do Líbano e apelou a um cessar-fogo no Médio Oriente.
“Consideramos inaceitáveis os incidentes que têm provocado o ferimento de capacetes azuis nas missões das Nações Unidas no Líbano”, afirmou Montenegro no debate parlamentar preparatório do Conselho Europeu na Assembleia da República.
“Condenamos igualmente o uso excessivo da força por parte de Israel em Gaza“, prosseguiu.
No domingo, o exército israelita assumiu que um dos seus tanques tinha atingido um posto dos capacetes azuis da ONU no Líbano.
Há três semanas que Israel realiza uma intensa campanha de bombardeamentos contra o sul e o leste do Líbano, assim como contra a capital, Beirute, além de uma ofensiva terrestre.
Em quase um ano de confrontos transfronteiriços que provocaram a deslocação de dezenas de milhares de pessoas dos dois lados fronteira entre Israel e o Líbano, o exército israelita tem vindo a intensificar os seus ataques contra o Hezbollah.
O conflito agravou-se em 1 de outubro com a invasão terrestre do exército israelita no sul do Líbano – onde mantém atualmente quatro divisões -, acompanhada por uma intensificação dos bombardeamentos israelitas, que já provocaram mais de 2.200 mortos e 10.000 feridos, a maioria no mês de outubro.
